Pink Teddy Bears
Pink teddy bears are desired in particular for many different
reasons. Some people associate the color with femininity and purchase
such bears for young girls. Interestingly enough, pink has only been
associated with gender in Western culture since the 1920s. From time
until the 1940s, however, it was actually associated with boys.
Many people select pink teddy bears in the name of breast cancer awareness.
This is to match the pink ribbon. This became the official color during
the 1990s. Today, the pink ribbon is internationally associated with
this cause.
Pink teddy bears may also be selected as a symbol of love or romance.
This is particularly common to see around Valentine's Day.
Of course, some people may also decide upon a pink bear simply because
they like the color.
